A new NBC4/Washington Post/Marist voted on this November.

According to the poll, 65% of D.C. Voters support Initiative 71, with just 33% opposed. The highest support was from those aged 30 to 44, with 79% from that age group favoring the measure.

Initiative 71, which will be up for a vote on November 4th, would legalize the possession of up to two ounces of cannabis for those 21 and older, as well as the private cultivation of up to six plants.

In March, D.C.’s mayor signed into law a proposal which decriminalized the possession of up to an ounce of cannabis; the measure took effect in July.
