Marijuana stays in a hair follicle for longer than it does in any other part your system. Weed can remain in a regular user’s urine for up to 30 days. THC can remain in blood seven days after a heavy user’s last toke. As for saliva, you won’t turn up positive for pot unless you smoked within the last 24 hours.
THC seems to cling to a hair follicle for the scariest amount of time. If tested you could come up positive for weed you smoked half a year ago.
Fortunately, there are ways to alter that outcome. Depending on the length of your hair follicles, employers can see whether you’ve used marijuana in the past week or even months. The longer your hair, the further back they can see.
Passing A Hair Follicle Drug Test
Hair follicle tests are one of the hardest tests to cheat. The last 1.5 inches of your hair tell whether or not you’ve consumed marijuana within the last 90 days or so.
Apparently, body hair may go back even further: 180-360 days but conclusive studies need to be done before we know for sure.
If you’re planning to get a job that requires hair follicle testing, you may want to quit smoking and shave all the THC covered hair off of your body and head.
The hair follicle that grows back will be clean of toxins as long as you have remained clean of toxins post-shave. If you have no hair on your body, it can’t be tested.
Since body hairs may hold THC longer than head hairs, it’s recommended that you rid yourself of all body hairs pre-test to avoid a positive from a session dating almost a year back.
Only a medical grade hair detoxification shampoo will be capable of removing the traces of drugs and metabolites produced by your hair.
Hair Follicle Detoxification Shampoo
Hair follicle detoxification shampoo can be found online, and they eliminate toxins and toxic metabolites from hair.
The way they work is they have an acidic base that destroys toxic metabolites without damaging the hair.
These shampoos were originally designed to remove toxins from prescription medications administered during surgeries.
Fortunately, they were not made to target any specific toxins meaning they eliminate metabolites from all toxic sources including marijuana!
So if you shave off all your body hairs and use a hair detoxification shampoo, you should be good to pass your test.
If you’re planning to detox your hair naturally, you’ll need at least 90 days to be certain marijuana is out of your hair.
Marijuana will continue to cling to a hair follicle for as long as it is in your blood. So you’ll want to wait seven days after your last smoke to shave all your hair if you’re willing. In 90 days you’ll have 1.5 inches of THC-free hair to get tested.
Marijuana stays in your hair for a scary amount of time, but there are several ways to rid your hair of THC metabolites.
